WOW SADDLES
WANT a comfortable, unique taylor made saddle just for you and your horse?
Then try WOW saddles newly imported by my fantastic sponsor Julia McLean of
Kiah Equine. Once you sit in them you cant help but say the word....."WOW". Not
only can riders choose their preferred seat, flap and knee roll with panel and
girthing options that come together in a saddle designed for both horse and rider
but they get a saddle packed with highly desirable features.

Also imported are the Korector pads. This is an innovative idea of air bags inside
the pad. You can inflate the pad according to the horses shape and saddle fit. It is
great for horses with sore backs, loss of muscle in an area and fantastic for
horses with very high narrow withers. It stops saddles from having pressure points
which leads to back problems and makes for a more comfortable ride for your
horse.

Some of my students have had a great season this year with Megan Briant completing at her first 2 star competition at Sydney  last weekend. Megan won
young rider of the year for the EFA Australia and the EFA NSW young event rider of the year which is a great result for Megan. Above: Megan looking
lovely in tails at her first 2 star on Talinger Cavalier. They ended up placing a very respectable 14th out of a large field of competitors.

Josie Laver has also been doing great things winning and placing in pre novice's and is about to go 1 star. At 15 years of age this is a great effort. Tori
Jeffress placed 5th on her horse Happy Vegimite in the 5 year old young horse class at the weekend of world cups.
Horse Trials and Tribulations....

There has been plenty happening over the past few months with competing, teaching and trying to deal with all of this rain.
Firstly the arena on my block is great, but with the yards only small and the location close to my dam, it seems that myself and
the horses are walking around in a proper mud bath. Hence the decision to move temporarily back to Harden to train my horses
whilst the winter blues are here. It is amazing the difference water, electricity and stables make life easier!

The competition season has been a bit up and down this year. After a great win in the CIC two star at Berrima ODE on Algebra
(Sam), we then competed and placed 9th in the CIC three star at Albury this year which was a great result.

I was very excited to compete in the world cup qualifier in Sydney this year.  Sam had other idea's though, taking a disliking to
the angle brush jump in the cross county phase. Then came Melbourne 3 day event,  and after doing an amazing round over
the big scary fences we had a naughty run off at a narrow bullfinch. We managed to finish the event but not quite in the top 10
as planned. I then decided to do the Sydney weekend event a couple of weeks ago at 2 star level for a confidence run. Sam
made the course feel like a pre-novice track, handling the 2 star fences with ease and placing 5th overall. We are contemplating
running at the Sydney 3 day event later this month.

Just a Blonde was great in his first 2 star competition placing 7th at Albury. Unfortunately a bruised foot has stopped us from
doing any events recently, but he is back in work and we are aiming for Adelaide 3 day event later on in the year.
Namchok (Matthew) Jantakad wins the Kings Cup in Thailand

Matt Jantakad from Changmai, in Thailand did some training at my centre for a few months last year. He competed Jewel Cross to gain qualifications and
experience. In that time we found a great horse Clifton Zengarie from Blair Richardson for Mat to take back to Thailand. The aim was to qualify for the up
and coming Asian Games in China. Matt recently won the Thailand championship and at only 16 years of age this is a great achievement. We wish him
luck for his preparation for the Asian Games in September and will keep you posted on his result.
Girl with a Curl owned by Mr Ben Smith from Canberra is a very cute welsh cob x  thoroughbred. So far she has placed 4th at Canberra ODE in the
preliminary and 5th at Sydney ODE recently.  She is an absolute head turner with many comments on how "cute" she is. The aptly named mare is about to
go pre novice at Harden ODE.
Raynick Apache Cat (left) competes in his first ODE at
the Albury Wodonga horse trials event. Apache shows
similar jumping style like his brother Just a Blonde (pic
below at Albury).

Apache placed equal first after the dressage, with a
clear showjumping and cross country round, with one
time penalty we ended up 2nd place overall in the
introductory. I was very happy with him and he will be
one of my future stars!!!

THE ALGEBRA SUPPORT CREW

Besides having his own facebook
page, Algebra has his own crew
of supporting grooms. Thanks
this year to working students
Elena Nuila, Mac Jantakad,
Abbey and Cloe Cartwright and
Josie Laver for giving up their
time to help out at grooming at
events this year. Sammi and I
really appreciate it.

Right: Namchai (Mac) Jantakad
from Thailand riding the 3 year
old Galliano. Mac is here gaining
experience as a groom which will
allow him to groom for his brother
Matt at the Asian Games in China
this year.
